Our covers are made from the people we want to empower - the women who have sacrificed everything to better the lives of their family, their children. This here is Lady N.
Her story? She sold everything she had to escape the wrath of the the Taliban in Afghanistan. She is our seamstress and an amazing one too. When we shared the idea of our cover with her, she shared with us how she aspires her daughter to further her studies as a lawyer.
We hope Nei Melbourne can be the stepping stone in both Lady N and her daughter’s journey for a better life.
Lady N, we are trying for you and family and hope that one day we can say to you and your daughter that #ivegotyou.
WHAT ARE OUR COVERS MADE OF?
Our covers are made from 55% hemp and 45% cotton linen.
What is hemp and why?
Hemp is made from a herbaceous plant and is one of the most eco-friendly materials in the world! It is strong but gets softer with washes, it has the closest characteristics as bamboo material - soft, biodegradable but even better, it is UV protectant!
The combination of hemp and cotton gives it this soft yet luxurious feeling for our bubbas and our design ensures the test of time - classic, simple and fuss free allowing you to walk around with it without looking like a milk maid!
